Breathing problems 

Due to immature lungs and risk of respiratory distress syndrome. 

Heart issues 

Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and low blood pressure are common. 

Brain complications 

Risk of intraventricular hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain). 

Temperature instability 

Premature babies often struggle to maintain body heat because they have very little body fat.

Digestive problems 

Immature intestines may cause feeding difficulties or necrotizing enterocolitis. 

Jaundice 

Premature infants may develop yellowing of their skin and eyes because their liver is underdeveloped.

Vision problems 

Premature babies are at risk of retinopathy of prematurity, a condition that can seriously affect eyesight.

Delayed growth  

Slower weight gain and development compared to full-term babies. 

Weak immune system 

Premature infants have a higher risk of infections and sepsis due to their weak immune systems.
