Primary Stroke Centre: Act FAST

A stroke is a medical emergency, and every minute counts. Seek immediate help if you notice:

  • F: Face Drooping. One side of the face droops or feels numb.
  • A: Arm Weakness. One arm is weak or numb and drifts down when raised.
  • S: Speech Difficulty. Speech is slurred, strange or hard to understand.
  • T: Time to Call Emergency. Call 95001 39000 right away.

Note the time when the symptoms first started and share it with the emergency team. This helps doctors decide the right treatment.

Our stroke team includes emergency physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists and rehabilitation specialists. They work together to give quick and effective stroke treatment and to support better recovery.

Warning Signs of a Heart Attack

Get emergency help immediately if someone has:

  • Pain, pressure or tightness in the chest
  • Pain spreading to the arm, jaw, neck or back
  • Sweating, breathlessness, nausea or dizziness along with chest discomfort

Do not wait to see if the symptoms go away on their own.

When to Come to the Emergency Department

Come to the emergency department or call for help if someone has:

  • Serious injuries from a road accident, fall or burn
  • Heavy bleeding that does not stop
  • Severe difficulty in breathing
  • Fainting, a seizure or no response when spoken to
  • Sudden severe headache or confusion
  • Severe pain in the abdomen
  • Signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or throat

What to Bring

If possible, bring these with the patient:

  • The patient’s medical reports and list of current medicines
  • Details of any allergies or known health conditions
  • ID proof and insurance details

Do not delay coming to the hospital to collect these items. In an emergency, getting care comes first.
