Fertility Centre

Prashanth Hospitals and Prashanth Fertility Research Centre (PFRC) offer fertility treatments planned around each couple’s needs. Our fertility centre is led by experienced specialists and uses modern reproductive technology, so every couple receives personal care at each step of their treatment.

We understand that trying for a baby can bring hope, stress and many questions. Our team takes time to listen, explain every option in simple words and support you through the whole journey.

Your First Visit

Fertility care at our centre starts with understanding both partners. At your first visit, the fertility specialist will talk to you about your medical history, past pregnancies, periods, lifestyle and any treatments you have tried before. Tests may be advised for both the woman and the man, such as blood tests, scans and semen analysis.

Based on these results, your specialist will explain what may be affecting fertility and suggest a treatment plan that suits you. Every plan is personal, because every couple’s situation is different.

Our Fertility Treatments

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)

In IVF, eggs are collected from the woman and joined with sperm in the lab. The embryos that form are then placed in the uterus.

  • Helps couples when the fallopian tubes are blocked
  • Can be used when sperm quality is low
  • Can help women with ovulation problems, especially when simpler treatments have not worked

Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

ICSI is a type of IVF where a single sperm is injected directly into each egg.

  • Used when the sperm count is low or sperm movement (motility) is poor
  • May be advised for couples who have had failed IVF cycles in the past

How IVF Treatment Works

  1. Ovarian Stimulation: Medicines are given to help the ovaries produce more than one egg. Growth is checked with scans and blood tests.
  2. Egg Collection: The mature eggs are collected in a short procedure done under sedation.
  3. Fertilisation: The eggs are joined with sperm in the lab through IVF or ICSI.
  4. Embryo Culture: The embryos are grown and watched closely by our embryologists.
  5. Embryo Transfer: A selected embryo is gently placed in the uterus.
  6. Pregnancy Test: A blood test is done after about two weeks to check for pregnancy.

Advanced Fertility Techniques

Your specialist will tell you if any of these techniques are suitable for you. Not every couple needs them.

  • Embryoscope: Takes time lapse images of embryos as they grow, so embryologists can watch their development without disturbing them. This helps in choosing embryos for transfer.
  • Embryo Glue: A special solution used during embryo transfer that may help the embryo attach to the uterus lining.
  • Stem Cell Therapy: A research focused approach in reproductive health. Your specialist will explain whether it is suitable for your condition.
  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): Prepared from your own blood and used in selected cases to support the uterus lining before embryo transfer.
  • Endometrial Receptivity Array (ERA): A test on a small sample of the uterus lining that helps plan the timing of embryo transfer. It is mainly used for women who have had failed transfers.
  • Laser Assisted Hatching: A laser makes a tiny opening in the outer shell of the embryo, which may help it hatch and attach to the uterus.
  • 40X Microscope for Azoospermic Men: Azoospermia means no sperm is found in the semen. A high power microscope helps our team search for healthy sperm in samples from these men.

Comprehensive Fertility Services

  • Blastocyst Culture: Embryos are grown in the lab for five to six days until they reach the blastocyst stage. This helps in choosing embryos for transfer.
  • Assisted Hatching: May be advised for older women and for women who have had failed IVF cycles, to help the embryo attach to the uterus.
  • Embryo and Semen Cryopreservation: Embryos and sperm can be frozen and stored safely for future use. This is helpful for couples who have extra embryos after IVF, or for men who want to store sperm before certain medical treatments.
  • Gestational Surrogacy: For women who cannot carry a pregnancy for medical reasons. Surrogacy is offered to eligible couples as per the rules of the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act in India.
  • Infertility Counselling: Fertility treatment can affect both the body and the mind. Our counselling helps couples understand their treatment, manage stress and make decisions with confidence.

Emotional Support During Treatment

Waiting for results, going through injections and dealing with past failed attempts can be hard. Our team keeps you informed at every step, answers your questions and makes sure you never feel alone during treatment. Couples are always welcome to discuss their worries with the specialist or counsellor.
